I’m not growing any veggies this year as a 20’x48” pool suddenly popped up in my garden. Hopefully a floating cooler poped up in the center of it 😀

We were so busy with the patio and other projects this spring. We were late getting the garden started. About a week ago we planted okra, pumpkins, and a bunch of sunflowers. Some pumpkins and gourds sprouted on their own after I tilled it up. Must have been some seeds from last year.

Got about 20 jalepenos about ready, about 10 to 15 large tomatoes almost there.
Harvested a small bag of red and purple potatoes and I have a handful of onions about ready.

The wife has canned a couple dozen jars of dill pickles and a couple dozen of bread and butter pickles. Tomatoes are just not getting ripe tho. Cantaloupe was looking good, about the size of softballs, but the vines look like they are wilting away.

So how is the hot tub bar porch working out wish I had more time to spend on my deck idk I thought you slowed down when you got a few years on ya I’m thinking the pace picked up that or I’m just getting slower

Some of what we've been getting every other day for about 2 weeks now. The tomatoes are coming on slow but coming, cucs are going like gang busters. Thinned out the okra and the corn will be coming on in about 2 weeks, planted it late. Really loving the weed barrier that we put down, good weed control. The use of the irrigation tape along with the rain barrels has really helped with keeping the plants alive in this hot heat and dry spell. my Bees are loving the cucs and cantaloupe blooms.

First year growing carrots. Well, I've planted them once before but they didn't grow. So I consider this a success.

I have an interesting story to add. I realize the beginning of this story is illegal but at the time the practice might have been legal I'm not sure. This spring my neighbor brought me a few tomato plants, he said that they were descendants of a tomato that his wife's uncle who fought in World War II and was in Germany and had a tomato that he absolutely loved. He asked for one more tomato so he could dry it out in take the seeds home. I have several tomatoes almost ready to pick from this strain. I'm very excited about this and my sister dries tomatoes and regrows the seeds so we are hoping to continue the tradition!

Is that your food plot buckbuster13 ? No lol that’s just part of my half acre garden I don’t have the time for any more. The clover it is a cover crop I normally plant in fall and turn under in the spring but just left it alone this year.

I canned over 100 tomatoes this year. All from 6 plants. I have two more plants that I didn't plant that came up in the zinnia bed on the other side of the house. Those are ready now. My guess another 15-20 more. Everything in the garden did very well this year. Once it dries out I need to get my potatoes dug out. Procrastinating a little bit.
Buckbuster13 zinnia-clover plot is a great honey food plot.
