Has anyone submitted NFA Paperwork lately? Form 1 or Form 4.
Have a Form 1 in the system and curious what the turn around has been lately.

The last ones I did were the paper form (you can do it electronically now) and it took about a year. I had to send a letter to my state representative to have her look into why it was taking so long and lo and behold, both of the tax stamps showed up within a few weeks of me asking her to look into it. It actually took 180 days longer than the ATF said it would take, and I don't know how much longer it would have taken if I hadn't been proactive in pushing to see what the problem was.

Turns out Form 1 to build an SBR took less than 3 weeks.

My local shop uses the silencer shop kiosk and the owner says that we have to sign in 5-10 days and the turn around time is 90 days. I paid for mine on the 9th, so I’ll know soon.

So I paid for mine on the 10th, not the 9th like I said previously. Today makes 17 total days without a word, but if you include the weekends, it’s only been 11 business days. Still waiting for the shop owner to hit me up. He said we would have to log onto the ATF website at the some time for some confirmation? Not sure what that means, but he said it usually just takes a week or two? I wish there were status trackers like when you order Pizza Hut haha

I figured it would be updated as the form moves through the system and is being reviewed. After checking it every day for 2 weeks, I figured it was going to take a long time. Then suddenly I saw an email come through that just said "Eforms update....Approved" and it was done. Long story short, don't expect an update until it's finalized. good luck!

So you got your tax stamp within 2-3 weeks? That's right. Submitted 4/22, approved 5/11. Also, I asked about the physical stamp and was told they don't issue physical/returned paperwork with stamps if using EForms. There is a stamp on the paperwork you download from their site and that's the officially approved paperwork.

If I’m not mistaken, that’s the law, right, I believe so. If you leave the state, you have to have paperwork from the ATF, i.e. permission for every state you will be using it in.

I dove a little deeper into that and found that you can use it for hunting purposes as long as the state you are hunting in allows suppressed hunting. You can also have it in your vehicle crossing state lines as long as you’re passing through.

I talked to my dealer today who spoke with SilencerShop and they said that the suppressor hadn’t been shipped yet, so it couldn’t be certified yet. Said it should be ready something this week.

Walked over to the gun shop today, he had to submit something that failed so we couldn’t certify it. He said he would have to reach out to SilencerShop again. So we’ll see what happens next.
