Hello all and thank you for adding me to this forum!
My name is Santino Alteri and I am currently stationed in San Diego, CA as a naval officer. I have been selected to attend Purdue University to pursue a PhD and I will be transferring my family to West Lafayette in July! We are very excited for the move and I cannot wait to hunt for the first time in 5 years! I appreciate any guidance or advice as we prepare our trip, for Iād love to find out where I can/should hunt. Thank you and looking forward to meeting people and participating in the forum!

Welcome to the Hoosier state. Once you get settled in wander over to the Wild Biology area and introduce yourself. You can find out all kinds of information there. Get ahold of the area ICO [Indiana Conservation Officer] and see if you can get together with him for a sit down. He can give you all the information you will need, gun laws and all that goes along with hunting, and most likely more than you can handle, so start here. www.in.gov/dnr/law-enforcement/contact-us/. Depending on what kind of weather you are used to, it can get damned cold and windy in all that flat land up there. Some decent Pheasant hunting up there so they tell me, but might be hard to find a place to get permission to hunt.

Welcome to Hoosierland, even if you are headed to Boilermaker country. Thank you for your service. What was your MOS? My daughter joined the Indiana National Guard and graduates from her AIT on Tuesday š

Welcome to Hunting Indiana and to Indiana.
As a Naval officer you may get to hunt NSWC Crane. It would be worth asking.
My nephew got his PHD at Florida State complements of the USAF.
