Still have a bunch of green tomatoes on the 2 plants that are in 5 gal buckets. A few are starting to turn red, but it's been a disappointment this year, maybe 1 'mater per week and there are 20+ on each plant. Next year it will be in raised beds with a drip system on a timer.

I had one of the best years for them bet I gave 30 lbs away and I made tons of salsa and got some frozen for other stuff they just kept on growing I have flowers on some of mine yet

Pulled the last of mine up Monday. The main garden was pulled, turned, and seeded with a winter wheat/rye mix a few weeks ago. The cover crop is about 6 inches tall. She's canning or pickling all the leftover green tomatoes

My garden is done. I had some turnips that basically failed. Probably too hot when planted, and I think all the rain we had caused them to rot. Probably crowded them too much as well.
I picked about 15 green bell peppers and a bunch of hot cherry, habanero and serrano peppers and pulled all the plants.
Overall, it was a good year for pickles, tomatoes and peppers.

Only actual things left in garden are bell peppers and 2 last tomato plants still producing. I am getting 2 quarts a week of strawberries off of plants called Ever Bearing. I have been impressed with them so far. I just planted them in May so next year should be better. They produce till first frost.

I've got potatoes to dig yet, but other than that, my season is done. Pretty disappointing year overall. Weather seemed to be bipolar where I was. It would rain heavy for a week and then nothing but hot and dry for the next month. I don't know about you guys, but it seems that watering with the sprinkler doesn't do near as well for the plants as a natural rain does. Just my opinion. I don't know if it has to do with the nitrogen in the air during a storm or what it is, but seems that is something that I've noticed. Maybe it's all in my head. LOL

LOL I hear you when it comes to the rainfall. For the year we're are sitting about 8 inches above normal but have had several dry spells this year that will last 10 days or more and then we'll get dumped on again with rain. As far as watering with a sprinkler, it seems that it does just well enough to keep the grass from completely going dormant and I end up with a big water bill. Welcome to Ohio Valley weather. It sucks.
