Anyone going out today?
Practiced shouldering a bit this morning, looks like I'll be in for a painful day, but this is the only day I dove hunt so I'll tough it out.

Tough day. There just weren't any birds. Couldn't hear much shooting from the other fields with the wind but I heard they weren't much better. I got 1, buddy got 6. A couple other guys on our field got 1 each, a quick scan of the cards that were turned in and 1 bird was 1 more than most people got.
And the recoil didn't hurt, I'm right handed and the injury is on my left, however the pump action let me know I was still sore.

Not many birds in NE LaPorte county either. I did not hunt. Just going by what we see in the area recently.

Ended up with 7 from a spot in north Judson. Got everything laid out in the field at JP but not mischievous shooting so I’m headed to the truck to get lunch and some a/c for a bit

Planning on getting out for the first time this weekend. Our family’s field that I usually hunt is beans this year. Not good for dropping doves into. Got a few other places lined up. We’ll see how it goes.

Ended up with 12 today. They’re getting smart already. Still whacking them with the 20 gauge though.

I could probably sit by the pond and get a few, the water level is low so they can land and walk to the water on sand.
