It didn't disappoint. Schall53 and I traveled to Ludington, Michigan and fished aboard the POLECAT with Captain Doug Strzynski.
We left the dock at 5:00am on Friday morning and at the last moment we took a young boy whos grandfather started Ray's Marine which is where we are located. The grandfather has since passed away and now the son Ray jr. runs the place and this was his son RAY RAY.
We ran out 15 miles SW to 580 feet of water and had all the rods set before sunrise but there was nothing happening. Our first hit came as a pair of hits with both ending up in the box then we went for a loooong period without a nibble UNTIL I put in one of my CD's of selected rock songs and things started happening.
We ended up with 9 fish for this our last trip of the year, We enjoyed loud rock and roll music and we enjoyed watching our young guest learn the ropes on glass calm seas with clear blue skies.
Right now the water temps have been warm everywhere and until some weather changes things will remain the same, fishing is still excellent but when it come to the big "KINGS" the best is yet to come.
Several Pictures to follow.

Our new local fishing buddy Ray Ray. It was good to have this nice young man along because that allowed us to use 3 more rods.

22 POUNDS. When that fish hit that lure was back about 475 feet. It took Mike about 20 mins to land that fish.

You need to take some lessons from yer buddy Mike!!! Dude! You couldn’t wipe the smile of my face if I was holding some trophies like that!!!😎😎😎

I thought I was on a bird watching cruise instead of fishing. I was fighting that big King when the bird landed on the boat. The next thing I knew, I was all alone back there. Thought I was going to have to net it myself!

I guess I’m going to have to say “smile for the birdy” so feather doesn’t look so grumpy. 😂
