Please add 5 more for Team #1. Sat this spot last Friday deer hunting and didn't see anything but a woods full of squirrels. Decided to squirrel hunt today and had 4 does come into the corn field to the east and make three big running circles like the were being chased. They started into the little woods, so I climbed into my 2-man treestand. Those deer made a circle running through the woods and finally stopped for a couple minutes in the far northeast corner. They apparently started to head west, but the neighbor's dog started throwing a fit and they cut back east to the corn field and made another running circle in it before heading southeast. They just acted completely insane like a buck was on them the whole time and one never showed. As soon as they were out of sight I shot the first squirrel while I was still in the stand. No other squirrels showed up, so I got down and made a slow circle through the woods. Just sneaky enough to get 4 more head shots. Really fun morning! Personal total is now 46. And one of the crossbreeds had the prettiest tail I have ever seen. Gonna let that one dry and hang it up in the reloading room.

Frosted over freezing fog this morning. We are playing the odds and starting a few hours after daybreak to let the critters wake up some.

That includes the pain of skinning and cooking. If we had more grays here, would be a totally different situation.

Add another one for Team #1. Didn't go to the woods this morning because of the wind, but a squirrel came to me. Another 39-40 yard head shot for the .177 Gauntlet. Held just on the side of the head and dead-centered it. Forgot the pic till I was cleaning him. Lunch for tomorrow in a bowl of soup! Personal total is now 47.

Brother, you win! Uncle... lol Couldn't help it. He was taunting me! Man, do I love that Gauntlet! Sounds like you definately have a winner with it. My only complaint with airguns is how little wind it takes to blow the pellet off course. I need to order some heavier pellets to try. I've read that my gun is tunable to shoot slugs as well, so might try a tin sometime. Those are 2-3 times the weight of a standard pellet and improved shape thus helping with the wind.

I'm getting fairly decent at Kentucky windage with the .177. Figured about 10 mph half value and held into the wind an inch for the 40 yard shot. Bullseye!
I get a pretty good amount of practice on Starlings in the winter.
Fun to hold off a Starling 2" and watch the pellet drift into it!

The spring powered air guns are even worse. You have to have great follow through to be accurate with them. With yours you have to move just your trigger finger, AND stay in the gun until the pellet leaves the barrel. People that have a hard time shooting rifles and slug guns accurately really should go practice with a pellet gun like yours. They will most likely see that their shooting problems are not the gun, but the nut behind the trigger.
