I drove to Poplar Bluff, Mo yesterday, and came back through Noblesville (had to stock a pay lake there with 1,000# of 2#-5# Channel Cats). It was hazy the whole trip, and foggy there in Mo. this morning.

Still have smoke down there? Yesterday was the worst we have had. Very strong scent of smoke in the air, almost like a heavy fog all day.

NW Indiana has had SW winds for awhile blowing in heavy, humid air. Just now the winds are switching to N NW with better air, so we may get a whiff of it. Will see.

Very hot and humid in Fort Wayne for last few weeks we really could use some rain also I played a practice game of soccer against Purdue and IU back in either 85 or 86. I think 86. We played on a field on the eastside of Fort Wayne. Can't remember the field name ,but on that day it was 106 or 107. Extremely hot.

I have lost about 2" of water in stock tanks that I use as small ponds over the last 10 days strictly to evaporation. Last rain was about 10 days - 2 weeks ago and that was between 1" and 2" I think. Grass is turning blue, corn is curling. it's really dry out. Right now it's 96.5°F in the shade with 65% humidity.
I feel for deadeer. It's probably 110°F at his toolbox now where the sun comes through the overhead doors.

Dead dry trees in the west are a factor too. Bark beetles have decimated them. A small fire can blow out of control in a heartbeat. Cigarettes, campfires, lightning, power lines, vehicles - any little spark and whoosh!

Maybe we should txt him and make fun of him probably be the icing on the cake 😇 I fill his pain digging a underground tomorrow and one Friday did two last week nothing like shoveling stone in 90 degrees

Did have a service call on the side of I94 to start the day. Brutal out in the sun changing tires.
