He flies back on the 8th. I think it was a scheduled 10 day hunt but got cut short a day as they were late getting out of Evansville due to a storm in Chicago. They missed their flight to Doha and spent the night in Chicago . Not sure what other critter he is after but he did say he wanted a zebra for rug.

How many inches is the Gemsbok? All he sent was the pictures, so I don’t know.Probably lucky he could send those as he had said he would be “off the grid”. It appears the left is longer than the right but it could be the angle of the camera. Nice looking critter though.

I really want a warthog on the wall. Head to Texas....They are of the rarest of the Swine species you'll find in Texas.

Can you bring the meat home? Can’t find what they are able to keep. I don’t think so.. I think the native tribes there get the meat. I also think he won’t bring the hides and horns back right away. They are shipped to the states. This is all conjecture on my part

The head/horns/hide has to be treated over there, and either shipped here as a fully done mount/rug/hide or preserved and shipped to a taxidermist here for further processing. Oryx are on my bucket list and they are free range in areas of New Mexico or White Sands Missile Base. I believe they are also in Texas but that's on ranches. I have no desire to hunt the Scimitar Horned Oryx. The meat is supposed to be VERY good, that is another reason why I want to hunt them here in the States.

You know if they are hunting over water or more of a spot hunt I believe it’s all spot and stalk. Pretty well drive around glassing and when they spot one they want to go after they go after it.
