Schall53 and I spent the last two days fishing aboard the "Eagle Eye" with our friend Captain Bob Hayner on Lake Erie. I had my son and my 3 grandkids on this trip. The Walleye had moved W A Y east about 26 miles or about an 1 1/2 hour run each way.
DAY 1
It was a bit choppy when we left the dock in the dark at 5:00 am but we caught all of our fish and we returned to the dock by 12:30pm. We started out using YECK spoons and finished up with worn harnesses. I had my 2 twin grand daughters who took to this like ducks to water.
Day 2
Once again we left the dock at 5:00 am however Captain Bob had a sneaky suspicion the Walleyes might have moved so after about a 30 min. run to the east he shut her down, turned on the graph and he was right because the graph lit up from top to bottom with marks. Before we could get all the rods set it was game on and it never stopped until we put 43 nice walleyes in the cooler. We returned to the dock by 10:30 am. Once again it was worn harnesses that were the weapon of the day.
We had our fish cooked for us by Jolly Rogers Restaurant in Port Clinton they did a fantastic job. This was our last Lake Erie trip for the year and it was a great time had by all.

Nice going. Sounds like your successes are so routine it's boring. 👍

This photo is of Captain Bob and our crew holding 9 fingers up as a joke because Bob's first mate Brad loves to mess with people's minds. Brad will wait till things get going crazy then he will yell out ROD 9, ROD 9. The rookie fisherman will run up and down each side of the boat looking at the 8 rod holders on each side which are numbered 1-8 looking for a #9 rod Which doesn't exist. Our group from this day on will be known as the rod 9 club.

Congrats on great trip…. So how many fish has your groups caught this year and how many pounds of fish? The fish are weighed by the fish cleaners so I believe we are around 390 pounds of Walleye for 4 mornings of fishing. I can't remember the exact number right now but I figure the fish weighed approx. 3 pounds each.
