I generally put my cameras out Memorial day weekend to begin watching this year's crop of bucks grow. Found a bunch of nice sheds this spring and 2021 looks to be one of best mature buck crops we have had since I moved here in 2003. Super excited to watch these guy's grow this summer.

Not yet but Counting down the days till my Prarie dog shoot. I went once. Had more fun seeing how far I could stretch the .22lr than I did with the .223.

I hunt 365 always looking for deer when out driving looking for new trails and sign when working on trees When they plant beans I can watch a whole lot of dirt off my deck and see how they feed how they come and go even though I can’t hunt that ground it gives me a idea were they will cross my ground

Honestly, yes and no. I'm at the influx point presently where I'm losing permission ground seemingly every year and it can take a toll on someone's drive. Mix in a young boy (biggest blessing ever) nearing 2 years old at home and a home/lot that is still only a year old with tons of "to-do" items around the house and I allow the summer to be my breathing point from deer more and more I find - which honestly is best for the properties anyways.
I am however still working on a few land plans for folks - and I've started writing/working on what may just become my first whitetail book. We'll see how the Lord leads this project and what direction it heads. What I need to do is sit down and record a few more podcasts for Indiana Deer News....its been vastly too long, but gotta have the time and the drive to do it LOL

I could go today if it were deer season.
My gun(s) and crossbow are ready, my clothes and gear are ready. We have a few Summer chores to do with food plots, but other than that I'm enjoying the Summer.
Tynimiller, everything else can wait. Spend as much time as you can with your son. I know it doesn't seem possible, but he'll be in school and grown before you know it and you'll be wondering how it passed so quickly.

His infatuation with cars and anything that has wheels could lead me to other hobbies even - I'll gladly go down those roads to spend time with him if needed Lord willing I have many many years of hunting, but only a small window to try and be there for my son before he becomes a man.

I took a 6 year hunting break when daughter was growing up. Wouldnt change a thing.
