Scott posted this in regards to my boy Luke. He took a treble hook in the finger last night while I was at work. They ran into some fireman, and then paramedics in the park where they were fishing. Neither crew would touch it and said to go to a doc. They gave him 2 shots to numb, and pulled but it was stuck. So they made 2 cuts to open it and a yank, and got it out. He was no worse for wear, and excited to show it off already.

Wish I knew about this years ago when I buried a hook in my thumb...nothing else to use in the middle of Patoka Lake so I went in after it with my Buck Knife. Hurt like hell!

Yep works like a charm. I had an er doctor at saint Francis remove a barb from a treble in my palm. He had been waiting to try to do the string method, popped right out.

I wish I would have known this trick a few years ago. I had to remove 2 prongs of a treble hook from a guys stomach. He was very squeamish and was nearly passing out. I poked them out the skin and cut the barbs off with pliers.

I'm waiting for the chance to do the single hook string method but I'm not sure it will work on a treble hook if you have more than one hook imbedded.

I’ve use this on many different occasions and have had it done on me the only difference is you push hard down on the eye end and that helps take the crown out of the hook makes a straight pull
My bud Steve and I were way back fishing one day and he caught a decent pike he reached down to grab it the pike jumped the bottom treble caught his palm the pike then stopped in mid air flipped straight up and drove the front treble hook into his finger meanwhile the pike decided it didn’t like being hooked and started flipping around like a mad man so Steve grabs the pike with his good hand unfortunately the drag on his pole was still set tight next thing you know his pole is poking his eye out about two seconds later both his arms are straight out in front of him and he’s yelling at me In a very colorful way about killing that fish I swear I was laughing so hard I about flipped the boat
I could publish a book about the stupid stuff the two of us have done together it’s a miracle that we are still alive and both of us have all our fingers and toes still

I had a Shyster treble hook buried in my arm. I was fishing at Dogwood with my father in law when it happened. I tried to get it out and couldn’t. His boat so he motored me to the dock and I drove into town and had a doctor cut it out.
FIL said “you don’t need me to go with you I’ll just stay and fish”. 😉

Got hung on a log, decided to pull real hard it came off and came flying back at me. The bullet weight went through the area below my bottom lip and above my chin. Cracked my tooth. I'll bet I went to the same ER where they removed the bullet weight from my face. Good times!

First time I saw it done I was out in a boat on the ocean, about 400 miles offshore, maybe 500 miles South of San Diego. No ER close......
About a 3/0 treble hook came out no problem.
