Sprayed to kill a few weeks ago, then last couple days I tilled and planted four large food plots totaling approx. 6 acres with roundup ready soybeans. Was enough moisture in the soil that it tilled up nicely and wasn't even too dusty for a change. I'm sure those beans will be popping up in a few days.
Also planted a couple hundred yard strip of Egyptian wheat along one perimeter of the property to block view from neighbors, so deer can move around in that area and feel undisturbed. It will need a good shot of Urea (nitrogen) at least twice during the growing cycle.
Unrelated to food plots, also tilled up a big area for a huge pumpkin patch which I will plant around the end of the month. Started growing pumpkins for fun a few years ago and have a lot of fun with that. Got the garden all planted too.

I’m living on my Alfa & clover till fall this year , trying to make things easier on me . This is truly a passion I enjoy, but I’m overwhelmed at work & trying to hang on for the final push till January 2023 as I told the boss going to go 3 days a week ! Radishes going in August. Good luck With your plots

I don't have a large area done in anything, but I have a variety of offerings for the deer this year, and I'm not finished.
I have red clover, oats, alfalfa, rape, chicory, turnip, triticale... Some annuals, some perennials...
All of this was done by hand, tilling, raking, burning, seeding, re-raking, because I don't have the equipment necessary. I've done this over about the last month. I was at, the property today doing some more burning before the rain drowns everything.
The alfalfa and clover are coming up nicely. The foraging oats have yet to appear but I'm hopeful they'll show up soon. I'm not even sure what chicory, rape, or triticale look like, but I hope it grows.
I also put out a couple of piles of minerals formulated to grow big racks. This morning when I showed up there were more tracks than I have ever seen on our property, and they were going in every direction.
I was a little worried that my plot was so small that the deer may decimate it before it had a chance to establish itself, but that doesn't look to be the case. Tracks of every size, going in so many directions that I couldn't follow one set of tracks. They run all through my alfalfa, but it does not appear that they've done much damage so far.
I did over-seed the areas, probably laying down twice the needed seed for the plot size so maybe they are eating it but I just can t tell.
I plan to re-seed a couple more times during the summer and early fall so there will be an ongoing supply of fresh growth.
It's been a tremendous amount of physical labor, but I'm having fun doing it, and it already seems to be attracting more deer to the area.

Planted a acre and half of roundup ready sweetcorn for the family, two acre's field corn and two acres of beans for the deer last weekend. Turnips will go in mid July. Looking for a good disc to pull behind the wheeler to do my shooting lanes I cut this winter.

Man we got a good gully washer here on Monday. Creeks were out of the banks, trees and power lines down, and roads flooded. I had thrown some grass seed in a few spots but it all got washed away with the rain. Guess I’ll try again later.

Beans look great. Sprayed all the plots with Glyphosate yesterday to kill the weeds.
Recently tore down and house and barn on another property, it's bulldozed down to bare dirt. Seeded that area yesterday (probably one acre) with white clover and turnips. Guess we'll see what happens there?

I’ve had better luck with red over white but that could be soil and from what I’ve seen here deer seem to prefer red Good luck we have had some nice rain the last few days clover has really taken off

Really need some rain now. Nothing in the forecast till Friday, so that's a longshot. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a little pop up thunder shower.
