I would absolutely kill for someone to offer me a job making more than what I currently make. I've been throwing out applications right and left and have yet to hear back from anyone other than 2 places saying they decided to go with another applicant. I've only worked at 2 different jobs over the past 25 years. I would think that would have some bearing on someone's decision to ask me to an interview. I've worked in high stress situations and been on the safety side of things but still no bites.
The only reason I'm looking to leave my current job is that, lets face it coal mines aren't going to be around forever and my current place of employment can only guarantee job security for 2 years max before they have to negotiate a new contract to see who is cheapest to supply power. And last I heard it was down to pennies per ton cheaper than our competitor.
I just have to keep remembering what my uncle told me "One more no is a step closer to a yes." We will see.
