The 2021-22 migratory bird hunting seasons have been announced. Seasons include those for mourning doves, waterfowl (ducks, coots, mergansers, and geese), woodcock, snipe, and sora rails. New this year, hunters may take five Canada geese in their daily bag limit of dark geese for the entire season. Dark geese include Canada, white-front, and brant. We've all been there, geese will swim right past the boat while I'm fishing, put camo on and throw a shot gun in my hands and they won't come within 2 miles of me. |

I had two of them 20 yards out the back door tonight. Dog chased em off. Somehow they know when the season is in. We've all been there, geese will swim right past the boat while I'm fishing, put camo on and throw a shot gun in my hands and they won't come within 2 miles of me. This is 100% true. I can walk up to the barn in regular clothes and the geese won’t pay any attention to me. Put on camo clothes and carry a shotgun and they’ll fly off immediately. Or if a vehicle they don’t know comes down driveway they will fly off. My ponds will be loaded with waterfowl until about two days before the opener. Then they are scarce. Really incredible. |

Season could have been 9 months long with 700 geese a day limit and I would kill just as many if they closed the season
