Run them both in till they stop. Do not over tighten. Back both out a round and a quarter. Start there and adjust till no hesitation on top or bottom end.

This guy has a great video about adjusting carb. He doing it on weedeater but he talks about adjusting it and the tool needed. Helped me fix my weedeater. He has video on the tool, too.

It may just be a dirty carb. Try cleaning with some carb spray.

You know why they call it a poulon? Cause you keep poulon and poulon trying to get it started.πππ

You know why they call it a poulon? Cause you keep poulon and poulon trying to get it started.πππ I know it's not the best brand ever but for $10 it was worth taking a shot at having a backup saw. I'm pretty rough on my little husqvarna when I'm trimming trails. I thought it would be good to use a cheaper saw for that.

I would get a can of Seafoam and mix a rich tank full and just run it with the choke in what ever position it will run and run it till its hot. Then let it sit so the cleaner can do its thing. Seafoam is the best stuff ever. Works way better than Stabil.

I'll give that a try. I've been watching more youtube videos. I'm going to clean the carb out and see if that helps. I found a new carb with a tune up kit on ebay for $20. It even comes with the adjustment tool. So worse case scenario, I'll have $30 in it.
I bought my dad a used Craftsman saw 3 or 4 years ago when he said he needed one. He never used it and now it won't start. I think I'll repo it and tackle that one next.

Make sure the air filter is clean and there are no cracks in the gas line going to the carb.

1) Carefully set the Poulan somewhere safe. 2) Go out and buy a Stihl 3) Once you've tried the Stihl, retrieve the Poulan and place in the nearest refuse receptacle.
Problem solved

I have my fathers old Stihl 032 AV he used to clear his property 43 years ago and itβs still running strong and it gets a lot of use. I did change it over to electronic ignition though. One of the best brands out there imo.

I'll take my Dolmar's over Stihl. When cutting side by side they seem to cut faster. Maybe because they are turning more RPM? CC for CC, they sure are lighter.

I cleaned the carb out. The little filter bowl was pretty cruddy. I blasted everything out on it including my eyeball. Carb cleaner burns for a few seconds. It fires right up and runs now. It idles low and wants to die. I cut some slots in the carb tuning screws so I can use a flat screwdriver to turn them. I did a test cut on an osage log. The chain is super dull. I'll take care of that tomorrow and see if I can tune it in some. So far it's looking promising!
