With all my work travel lately, it was good to spend some time at the range. My grandson and I have been having a debate in recent months on which of us will have the most headshots on squirrel this upcoming season. So far, my most accurate rimfires are my CZ 452 Mannlicher shooting 22lr and my CZ 457 American shooting 22wmr. So we put them to the test. We both seemed to be equally accurate. We used my old Harris bipod. For now, we're indoors so that limited us to 25 yards. We fired the CCI Gamepoints with the 22 Mag (wmr). And shot the CCI Mini Mags with the 22lr. The CZ 452 is topped with a Vortex Crossfire 2-7x32 dialed at 3x power. The CZ 457 is topped with a Nikon BDC 3-9x40 dialed at 3x power. All shots were under 1 inch. But, The CZ 452 Mannlicher proved to be just a skosh more accurate. Now we want to get them to the property to stretch it out to at least 50 yards and see how they fare there!

How do you use the bipod when they are in the trees? Getting the gun accuracy down is great, but then the rest is up to the shooter.

He won't remember who gets the most head shots in the upcoming squirrel season (not very long anyway), but he'll always remember shooting with his grandfather.

I've owned a couple of CZ 22s, both were great shooters.
