I agree, why do I have to pay school taxes when I don’t have any kids in school, but every year I do. If they want to go to school let em run a kool-aid stand. You can’t be serious and if you are.... Go rent then you won’t have to pay school taxes.Duhh

I’ve had kids in school, grandkids in school and now have great grandkids in school so I don’t mind paying. But that’s just me.. .

If they are going to forgive outstanding student loans, then they need to also reimburse all of us who already paid out of pocket for college, or for a kids college. Where does this end? I think it's all political grandstanding and would be very difficult to get passed.
I didn't attend college, but I did borrow money for a car at that age and knew darned well that I had better pay back the loan or there would be serious consequences. These 18-20 something year old kids are plenty old enough to understand what they are getting into. Many their age are starting to raise families or in the military protecting our freedom. You borrowed it, you pay it back, pretty simple.

Sam has already stated that this girl without huge debt does not exist. He is selective. See what happens down the road.

I don’t agree with it at all I pay tax’s twice a year to support them till they graduate high school and I believe it’s one of the most unfair taxes around but that’s another post After high school it’s your and your parents problem I’ve got way to many friends and family that have kids with worthless degrees and a ton of loans if your stupid enough to believe that you can make a living staying between the lines with a crayon you deserve to make payments

One aspect I rarely hear mentioned-- we all know of various supervisory or other higher positions that require a degree that really could be filled by "uneducated" but extremely competent employees that are already around. But in the corporate world having that degree ( sometimes any degree ) gives you a competitive advantage. We are hung up on paper qualifications, for good or ill.
Now these employees will watch some kid walk in the door with a degree and take a job they are not qualified for like always-- only this time it's a degree that taxpayers like them paid for. I personally think that sucks. I say if you don't pay the loans, the degree should be voided.
Not to mention, how is this fair to the people that worked so hard to pay for their degree? Now this dude's free degree carries the same weight as theirs?

As far as the loans go, IMO if you took 'em out, you should pay them back, period.

As someone who has gone through 4 years of schooling and has had 2 separate jobs that both required the schooling that I went for (civil engineering), in my opinion, this is absolutely assinine. First off, i think that the majority of college courses/degrees are worthless. They meerly give you a vocab lesson on terminology in that particular field. 95% of learning how to actually do the job is from on-job training. Secondly, what are you teaching kids about the real world when you forgive loans? I think I'm just going to call my mortgage lender and tell them that I don't have enough money to pay my mortgage. It's a ridiculous sentiment, but that is exactly what we are telling these kids who knowlingly agreed to these loans before hand. There is no responsiblity being taught to anyone anymore and the lack of personal responsibility will be the downfall of every good thing about this country.

I have to think it is a diversion tactic so the masses are distracted.
The idea of forgiving student loans is horrible idea.
Meanwhile the cost of medical coverage is insane. My wife had a minor outpatient surgery earlier this year...total time in the office from checking to dismissal was maybe 5 hours. Just got the bill $62,000+
Our insurance covered a lot of it but good grief

www.wave3.com/2021/05/27/million-award-simmons-college-funding/I’m down in Kentucky working my brains out! Late night early morning. Half the time completely drenched and stinky water and out of breath. Wearing the stupid mask. Hot boiler plant! And I wake up early this morning to get going again with this crazy freaking news out of Louisville! Top news coming on the TV, showing Simmons College students holding up their little pieces of paper that say their education is “Paid in Full.” And they actually have the gall to show some twit of a student thanking Joe Biden for the money!?!? No babe! All of us hard working taxpayers!!!! That’s where that came from...or will come from!!! It’s the “American Rescue Plan” That’s the official name but I have other names for it! Yep, feeling’ real motivated to head for another day at work here!🥵
