First Habitat Work of the Season

Strip disked about 40 acres of CRP ground today as required. It was just dry enough to get it done and they are calling for rain, so glad to get it behind me. They don't allow this work to be done in April, May, June or July due to bird nesting. If you wait till August to do it, you knock down a lot of the cover that will be beneficial to wildlife in the fall and winter, so I always try to beat the 4/1 deadline.

Will start prepping food plots in coming weeks, as the ground warms up.
