The Natural Resources Commission today changed the rule on equipment for muzzleloaders used during deer season. The change allows the use of the rear powder loading and front bullet loading of muzzleloader during the FIREARMS season. This is the final rule and must be reviewed by the Attorney General and the Governor before the change is finalized. Will likely be ready this summer/fall.

If it is for firearms season only, why did anything need changed?
To me, this will just cause issues because people will take them during the muzzleloader season.

Removed the restriction in 312 IAC 9-3-3 requiring the powder used in muzzleloaders to be loaded only from the muzzle end of the muzzleloader is my guess. Looks like they are now classified a “muzzleloader” just not legal in the muzzleloader season.

Will this be legal on public ground? The powder thing looks a lot longer than 1.8". They have created a mess in my opinion. I see the sales point as being the biggest problem giving incorrect info to buyers. I was in Sportsmans Warehouse tonight but did not look to see if they had any on the racks.

The IC code still makes it classified as a muzzleloader that’s legal when ever a Gun season is open..... but not legal when muzzleloader season is in!
I am not sure this gun will be that popular anyway.

Sounds like they just made it more confusing.. And if you buy one the ATF Form 4473 has to be completed.
