I had gotten my quail and phesant out of the freezer Saturday and got them ready to cook for Sunday. I had planned on smoking them. However, early Sunday morning I got called into work for about 10 hours. So, Daphne, who had never ate or cooked them before, decided to oven fry them. They turned out really good! But, Daph started to cry when she ate her first piece of quail. We've had them come into the yard a few times and she just loved watching them. I told her I'd eat it and she didn't have to but, she since it was dead and I went through the trouble cleaning it that she felt she should eat it.
Although she thought the quail was good, she would prefer that I shoot more phesant and less quail. Lol! She absolutely loved eating the phesant!

HAHAHA. That's funny. I took 3 pheasant out of the freezer on Saturday morning. I put them in the crock pot with chicken stock, salt, pepper, garlic, onion, and a can of cream of mushroom soup. Then sprinkled paprika over the birds. I'ved never done them this way before. Once it was cooked, layed the meat over the top of some wild rice and made some gravy from the crock pot drippings. It was fantastic. My wife hesitantly took her first bite as she has not had pheasant before. Once she took a bite, she loved it.
