Just got done plowing about a foot of level snow with some 4 foot drifts here and there.
While plowing I watched about 150+/- Canada Geese go into the pond and make themselves at home.
With super cold temps predicted for the weekend into early next week and with The NASCAR season starting next week I think that the next 2-3 days will be my last go around with the birds.
I'll keep you posted.

Well it wasn't the blood letting I was hoping for but at least I got rid of Pepe'Le Pew. Only one bird worked and I ended up slobbering it down 2 fields over. Good retriever saved the day. One more day tomorrow.  |

What was your total for the season? I hunted 6 days total for geese and killed 6 geese. But the best part is I did it in my backyard at my leisure. I have 12 legs which will give me 2 crock pot meals of goose legs with sour kraut, new potatoes, baby carrots all simmered in some brown sugar. I will make some goose jerky and some goose dip for our walleye fishing trips. Any more the older I get the less I need to kill. |

Firstwd I am Polish through and through and sour kraut has always been in my life since I can remember and I too never liked it till my wife showed me a better way to cook it.
Start with the kraut you buy in a bag or if you have a old world type grocery store like the ones in the Chicago Polish neighborhoods buy fresh kraut.
Rinse it real good then apply a big heaping tablespoon or two of brown sugar to it when cooking it.
You will fall in love with it.

I like kraut with sausage and tortellini or on brats. I will have to try the cook with brown sugar trick.
