I have about 50 feet of roadside area of my campsite that is wide open that we have been wanting to screen off. My initial thought was just several white pines because it would look nice and be there all year, but I'm thinking their growth rate won't match mt desires.
Is there anything native, or at least not destructive, that will grow to 6 feet or more rather quickly that I can plant along the road ditch? My current thoughts is something quick to block the "view" but still run a couple rows of white pine on the camp side for a more permanent wall.

whitetailinstitute.com/conceal/Haven't used it but I have an order in for it and will try it this year. I think Arborvitae make a denser "screen" than White Pines, especially if they are planted on 5' centers, two rows deep and alternate the rows.

I've seen an awful lot of arbovitae with Winter burn that didn't green back up the next Spring.

Just fyi I bought a bunch of white pine saplings for same thing and the raccoons dug most of them up to get to the topsoil pack. I would go with bigger trees if you can afford them, whatever they are.

Giant miscanthus for the short term then some kind of deciduous for the long term.

I plant Egyptian wheat on one of our property lines where I don't want people looking in. Run the tiller and create a good seed bed, pack it in, then just hit it with straight nitrogen a couple times while it's growing and it will make a wall of thick cane like grass 8' to 12' tall. Could do Arborvitaes (cedars) alongside the wheat and quit planting wheat annually when they get big enough.

It looks pretty good from the pictures I found of it. Im thinking it would be very handy at blocking the spotlighters favorite area as well as mt campsite. I have a few places where the garmer doesn't plant the corners and leaves it open to line the combine up that could easily be tilled and planted with this stuff as a dove plot. Just leave it be and it will get knocked down during harvest and whatever grain is there would be fall/winter food.

For that, I would plant sunflowers.
