Yikes! Does the coast guard send a bill like an ambulance does? Glad they are safe. Yes, they all got a bill when they got to shore.

This kind of thing happens quite often on Lake Erie, over there they use air boats to rescue and recover. Anybody up there near Duluth got an air boat.

I fished up around Plymouth yesterday. Ice conditions are all over the board. It was plenty thick most places (avg. 8"+) but some had about an inch crust, 6" of slushy wet snow, then 6" of pretty soft ice underneath. Other places were good hard ice.
Use caution, check as you go out.

Power auger, darken up the hole if you can. Tip ups, and approach them with light feet if you got something like a pike on. Local knowledge!

Maxi is on the list as a possibility if the other lakes are crowded or the bite is slow.

Caught a little six-pack through the ice last night after work. Fishing was pretty slow, but was able to pull these out.

I'm not set on the locations but I really want some perch since you dont see them down here too often. I have some beemoths. Thought I had some wigglers, but I didn't realize that they are different than red wiggler worms.
