Fantastic fishing season this year! Weather has prolonged the spawning and it’s been on fire 🔥 Made couple casts, caught 3 in minutes. Fillets in air fryer immediately. Doesn’t get any fresher than that. Good going!! Keep working at it, they are a bit skinny, if it's private waters try to remove 30#/surface acre this year.

My best friend of 43 years and I went to our favorite pond this morning. It's a 3 acre hole that his grandfather built in the late 60's. When he sold it about 20 years ago one of the conditions of the sale was that family kept fishing rights. It works out well for us. The current owner doesn't know a fishing pole from a piece of rebar. This is a place that we usually quit by mid-morning due to having enough fish. Not today. We farted around until noon and had 12 bluegill and bass. Loaded the boat and headed to his parents smaller pond across the road and proceeded to keep 28 in less than two hours. I just don't get it.

Daph and I are getting packed up to take the boat to the gravel pit. We're going after crappie today. I think I'll also use this time to teach her how to operate the boat today as well.

Looks like one of them f1 hybrid gills. Fun to catch but they can take over a pond.

I picked up that knife. Pretty slick. It took me a bit to get accustomed to it and still not sure I am proficient yet but I see the potential. Going to sizzle some sauger and crappie tonight. Make room for the next batch

I got the mister twister electric knife. Didn’t know how I would like it. Now, don’t know how I lived without it. Clean a mess of fish fast. Takes a bit not to saw them in half to get used to it.

I caught a mess of crappie this spring and told my wife, new rule. I will only fillet 10 fish or less at a time. Later that night I was like shoot I need an electric knife. Rule broken just that fast

Lol. You got that right! Looked like a murder scene on a couple. Once we got the touch, it was bing bang boom like an assembly line.

Great day at the gravel pit. Daphne did an outstanding job learning to drive the boat. Once she got the gang of it it was all her! She even docked it and got it onto the trailer without issue.
We caught some nice crappie and bass. We didn't keep anything either.

Make room for the next batch I ordered one from Amazon yesterday. My Mr. Twister is starting to randomly stop while being used. I'm quite certain that I got $25 worth of use from it long ago. I was looking at the Rapala cordless. I asked a buddy about it and he said that he bought two and they were both junk and returned them.

Hope they provide equal value for us.

I would like the cordless. But those prices are way to high for me. Have a plug right outside my garage and my fish table that rolls. Mister twister is big bulky but it’s worth it.

I went fishing at my brothers this past Saturday. Caught a few 1 to 2 pound bass and average crappie. No pictures. It was just good to get out and get a line wet.

Looks like one of them f1 hybrid gills. Fun to catch but they can take over a pond. That's the problem. A trespasser bucket stocked the pond without permission and the goal is to remove as many of the hybrid gills as possible. They hit another pond on the same property, stocking some channel catfish, and someone also dang near completely fished out the Largemouth from a pond.

Went fishing in the pond yesterday, Bluegills are carrying eggs and the bass are cruising the shallows. I would say that with this warm spell it should be on fire next week if it doesn't cool down to much.

Funny how much the difference is between north and south. Spawn is pretty much over in my ponds.

Funny how much the difference is between north and south. Spawn is pretty much over in my ponds. Yes, very interesting. I fished two ponds in Dubois Co. and one in Floyd last weekend. The bluegill were full of eggs and nowhere near the beds. No cicadas around here yet either, at least not that I have seen or heard. I'm heading out to do some bank fishing at daylight. It pains me to leave the boat in the garage, but sometimes it's just not worth the hassle. I hope to have a basket full before the heat sets in. I'm also anxious to use my new Bubba cordless knife.
