That's something I will try one of these days!!!
The catfish eggs will pop and spatter grease a LOT more than bluegill/perch/crappie/bass eggs.

My papa would always eat crappie eggs like a delicacy. No thank you for me. One of my 13 year old grand daughters will eat the eggs right out of the salmon or lake trout bellies as they are being filleted. She really separates the men from the girls when she does it at the fish cleaning station. They taste like a raspberry with a nutty after taste. Lol. She's 10 times the man I'll ever be then. ๐คฎ

I think it went from swimming in the ocean to being served in less than 10 minutes.

Been hitting Trail Creek for the spring steelhead run. Caught this one today with my boy and bullseye69. Caught a similar one yesterday but it flipped and flopped back in.

What did you get it on?? Nobody else have any hits?? Inline spinner. Everybody had some follows and a few strikes, but the real aggressive strike has slowed some. I floated some eggs right on their noses, but zero interest this weekend.

I caught quite a few last spring on a 1/16 oz lead head and 1/2 a nightcrawler.

Had some strikes but missed. ๐ก Bit slow are we ? I really think they were half hearted strikes. He didn't go up or down stream after the hit and I ran it past him more than once. If they are really hungry they will strike a second or even third time. That stretch of creek has a lot of food in it and they get filled up in that area.

Fishing slowed up at Trail Creek. So we switched up and went to the St Joe river in Mishawaka. The steelhead are on the beds and we saw a lot of fish. Only saw a couple on, and only one caught. Nothing for us, but we learned a lot. We recognized a guy that guides on Trail, from Pautzke Bait. He has youtube videos and products. The one fish was caught next to us, so I snapped a pic. Beautiful silver fish, fresh out of Lake Michigan. Maybe next time!
