I went out yesterday and moved a few cameras around to try and see if/when the flock is moving through. Although I'm seeing some tricks in the sand, I feel they're mostly staying east of me. Each winter the flock moves east to a large standing white pine lot. From time to time they come back over but, not too often.
I located some a couple spots in the woods that have some turkey scratches, tracks and feathers. I put cameras up on those spots. Another camera watching an open field that I have seen the flock use on a couple occasions to enter the wood lot.
I have yet to harvest a fall turkey but, I'm looking forward to getting an opportunity.

Only if by chance they came by and I had the correct equipment. But the population by me is almost nonexistent. One time me and my son both got a fall turk with my crossbow.

I may just go hunt one area that they frequent with a crossbow, that way I will be ready if it's feathers or fur.

I dont even buy tags anymore. My prefered property doesnt hold a lot of birds and I never seem to have time to scout fall birds.

I get it...For me too, I was in no place financially to get that, but I bit the bullet and did it. In fact, I did two of the best things I`ve ever done in my life, and they were, getting the Indiana Lifetime Comprehensive Hunting and Fishing License, and I upgraded to my NRA Life-Endowment membership. They both were big hits financially, and a financial advisor would have been horrified I did that in the financial shape I was in. But, looking back, I`m so glad I did both.

For the last 5 years, I've always bought a tag for in case one walks past while I'm chasing deer... I have never filled one of those tags, but every time I don't have a tag, I see tons of turkeys in range.
