Not really deer camp but we sleep in our blinds the night before firearms opens. We don't have to walk out and spook any deer away. We been doing it for aboot 10 years or so. Kind of like a tradition now. When you talked about that in another post, I thought you were kidding! I told my wife I was going to sleep Friday night in my ground blind, she laughed as much as I did. I just don`t think I could take sleeping on the ground, and even if I had a cot, it wouldn`t fit...

Ya its a bit bigger than a pop up ground blind. There is enough room for 2 to sleep.

Just got dune makeing fryed deer burger gravey to put over toast with eggs. I got one of those old sq medal toasters you put over a flame to toast bread. Gona fry up some taters later for in the morning with the gravey. It will hold you a long time. I also brought a deer back strap I will cut and put under the broiler tomarrow along with the taters and maby leftover gravey. I THINK i will be eating like a king. We have always eaten like that in deer camp. With me being a tightwad i can cook and eat all day for what it would cost for breakfast in town and not have the drive 2 or 3 times a day with the lose of time either.

WOW!!just WOW!! sitting here in camp and Just heard a big tree come crashing down. No wind or any thing. Just a lot of cracking then a big crash thump. This woods has a lot of dead standing ash trees and they scare the heck out of me for this very reason. Believe it or not this is the 4th tree I have heard fall naturally with out any wind. I must spend to much time in the woods. Na,no way,I do not think so. Onebentarrow I heard one a couple of weeks ago when the trees still had leaves, I was in my climber and heard it fall, sounded close but I never went to look for it. I will after season.

The last buck I watched from my blind was listening to a big top of a tree snap, pop and crack then fall down about 30 feet. He then proceeded to go over where it fell and check it out. I got him Listening to it one video.

Every year the group I hunt with on different farms get together Saturday evening for a big dinner at Steve's old house. He built a new house about 7 years ago and we use the old house as a camp. On Sunday's we go over Bob's place for steak and potatoes. We do eat well. We all chip in to cover costs.

I got that single one here. Runs on Coleman fuel. Its here for the borrowing! Delivering would force me to get a spicy chicken sammich at Popeyes! Hint hint! Lol

In Indiana, I hunt right out the back door on our own farm, don't even need to buy a license. It's not the same experience as hunting camp however.
I've got a property in southern IL where we hunt with a cabin, etc. It's a real deer camp and deer hunting is the total focus when we're there. Just got back from nine days of bow hunting there. Seems like when you are hunting at home, you have more interruptions and are always thinking about things you could be working on, etc. Putting some distance between you and home makes it more of hunting experience.
We eat plenty of venison too. Last week one of the guys made a big one skillet dish of venison heart, fish loins and tongue all diced up with onions, peppers, taters, mushrooms, etc. that turned out real good.
Over the years we've done just about everything on hunting trips; cabins, campers, tents, wall tents, slept in the truck topper, cheap motels, etc. Enjoyed every trip.

Popeyes` chicken sandwich is THE best I`ve personally ever had. Good luck getting them. I`ve sat in line at the drive thru for 45 minutes only to get to the pickup window and be told to pull up, there would be another "considerable" wait...when you know the demand is that high, and you perform SO poorly, I don`t need what you`re selling.
