I bought a Ross 92 44 mag 6 or 7 years ago but never shot it a whole lot except for plinking with some light loads. Mainly, I guess, because the open sights were a big blur to me. Recently I put a red dot on it and was really surprised at the accuracy. AT 100 yards, with the big dot covering most of the target, it shot a 3 1/4" group, and at 50 yards they are just about all touching. This is with some 265 grain cast and a full charge of 296 powder. Kicks pretty good for a "pistol caliber". I've ordered a scout scope for it, if it arrives soon enough, I plan to hunt with it. Most places that I hunt will be well within it's range. I'll feel like John Wayne with that 92!!

I have hunted with a 1894 in 44 mag and two different 336's, one in 35 rem and one in 30-30. Taken deer with all 3 of them. Lever guns are just plain cool!

One of the biggest regrets of my life: I had a Winchester `94 in .44 mag., with a Leupold 3x9 on top of it. Sold it...don`t know why I made such a bone-headed mistake. It shot the LeverRevolution ammo really well. I killed one buck with it from the ground the second season I had it...

I bought a Marlin 1894 in .357 magnum the first year that pcrs were legalized in Indiana. It shot well, but like a moron, I sold it for something "better"...
I wish I'd kept it now.

I got a Rossi R92 in 454 casull. It is awesome! Put a burris fastfire red dot on it. 3 moa dot is great at 100 yards. Head shots on does at 50 yards is ace! Its my woods gun because its so small.

Is that a Marlin Bullseye on the stock? Yes it stays right on when put back together. Its pretty amazing how smooth but tight it fits together. Not sure what your seeing on the stock?

Ah ok had me looking hard to see what you were seeing. Lol If you ever get the chance to hold one or get a chance to shoot one do it. Its the smoothest lever gun ever imo. Empty or loading a round feels the same. Its just smooooth!

I hunt with both a Henry Big Boy in 44 mag and then I purchased a Marlin 1894 SS in 44mag also. Love both of em , the Henry has the smoothest action between the two and I added the oversized lever so I can still rack it with my gloves on but the Marlin is lighter and just feels good to hold when shooting. My father and I had to chamfer the barrel a little because it was shaving the brass when you’d rack through shells but have had no problem since.

Working some loads for the 325 today. 180gn Nosler 175gn Sierra Both using 68gn of powder. They should be 2800-2900 somewhere in there. Its a thumper off the bench for sure. Looks like the 180 are better so far.

Marlin 1894c in .357 magnum. I topped it with a Millett red dot and feed it 180 grain Buffalo Bores. I used to just use the iron sights until I realized, when hunting in the woods, I couldn't see through the iron sights with 10-15 minutes of legal light left.
It's my preferred gun for when I expect to take shots <100 yds. I've doubled down with it a couple of times because the report doesn't spook the deer.

3 or 4 years ago I had 3 doe walk slowly out in front of my ground blind at about 40 yards and stop to feed, all standing broadside to my position. I had a Marlin 336 in .35 Remington in my lap. I put my sights on the chest of the largest, and just then she raised her head and looked over her back. I waited a few seconds to see if a buck might be strolling into view but saw nothing.
I changed my mind and decided to try a head-shot. I set my sights about 1" behind and 1" below the largest does right ear and pulled the trigger. As soon as the gun went off I racked the lever and put the sights on the next largest does chest and pulled the trigger again.
I tried hard to get a bead on number 3 but she was long gone by that time. Both shot doe dropped within 10 feet of each other and neither made it more than 2 steps.
This was my second double in 3 years, the first being with a Mossberg 464 in .30-30.
Oh how I love my lever guns...

I used a lever Marlin 336CS in 30-30 when we first allowed the larger rifles. I think I have a 3-9x40 on it. Handy little gun in a tree stand and I limit shots out to about 150 yards. My daughter killed her first deer with that gun. I still use it when I am hunting thicker cover in a treestand.
