Does anyone hunt ducks at Salamonie Reservoir? Just curious about the drawdown, are the boat ramps accessible? Typical species and any numbers? Thanks.

I spend a lot of time at Salamonie (usually mid Spring to early Fall). I typically don't see a lot of waterfowl there for whatever reason. There are some ramps open during the draw down but it depends. I find the Dora ramp and the Lost Bridge West ramps are your best bet.

Took a drive down there yesterday. Water levels are way down. Mt. Hope launch has a sand bar across it near the water. Saw 1 small raft of ducks. Maybe a canoe or kayak would work. Several stumps and trees visible in the water as well.

Ducks are heading your way fellas. Last two weeks seen a huge push of birds come through here. Last Saturday the boys killed 80 on Saturday alone. Most of the shallow lakes that are full of rice are freezing up now and the birds are heading south.

They would have to bounce from the Mississippi drainage and cross IL. Ducks hate IN
