View daily in-depth data, including county numbers. 116,122 Deer harvest numbers are updated as deer are checked in via CheckIN Game. All numbers are raw data that have not been verified by the Indiana DNR. www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/8367.htmI killed my doe on the last afternoon of muzzleloader season, December 20th. I`m grateful and extremely happy to have killed a deer, and it`s exciting that my deer is reflected in this number!

Agreed. Heck of a year.. My home County was slightly down. Once one of Top harvest counties in state annually producing 3000 to 3400 deer, this year will end up just shy 1800. Deer reduction, EHD and a growing Amish population have really hurt some areas of County. Fortunately my part of CO. has a healthy population. Would not be surprised if our County bonus ANTLERLESS # drops to 1 from 2.

Switzerland County has been dropping since or before 2015. 2651 down to 1792. Need to check before the 2012 EHD issue.

Switzerland County has been dropping since or before 2015. 2651 down to 1792. Need to check before the 2012 EHD issue. Switzerland and Starke usually were top 2 producers with Switzerland being very small in comparison in acreage. I have mixed feelings as in the 2000's we just had way, way to many deer. Not uncommon to see 40-50 deer per set in hay day with most being antlerless. I am very happy with deer numbers I am seeing currently BUT I live in a highly managed area of county So not all the county is seeing the same. My western part county friends are seeing the least and IMO a high Amish population in that area is not a coincodience. End day Bonus antlerless tags have come way down from the 8 we had for several years to current level of 2. Again I suspect we may fall to 1 bonus tag for next year??

Perry county has been down the last 5 years as well and this year harvested under 1600 deer. If you look at the % of deer habitat in Perry county it is 86%. Steuben County killed more than 3,000 deer and their % of deer habitat is only 47% and Noble County killed over 3,000 deer and their deer habitat is at 26%. So that tells me the population is way down in Perry County.

The "habitat" rating is based on old aerial overlays interpretted by computers...take it with a grain of salt.

I have hunted Perry County ever since I started hunting in the early 80's and do not know of many areas where it is too thick to not be able to see deer if they came by. Now some tracks of land are large and hard to hunt. The County has over 60,000 acres of HNF which the vast majority of that has mature timber and when the leaves are off during gun season you can see a long ways due to no understory.
