Text for the Day -- Psalm 17:8-9 ---------- Guard me as the apple of the eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings, from the wicked who despoil me, my deadly enemies who surround me.
Devotional ---------- David often prays and gives witness in the psalms that he knows he cannot survive on his own. He needs God. He also knows that he beloved by God. His experience of God's care has led him to believe he is the apple of God's eye. He knows he is under the protection of God, as a chick lives under the hen's wings. How aware are you of your need for God's care?
Prayer ----------- I thank you, Lord, for caring for my life. Amen

I'm aware of it, and it's a beautiful thing!
I was watching a messianic rabbi talk about not wasting your wilderness. I wondered what in the world was he talking about. The wilderness for me was about surviving and nothing more. However, I thought about what he was saying. God works when there's a need. The greater the need, the more he will be manifested.
Had I not gotten to a point where I couldn't have bore any more pain and anguish, I wouldn't have felt his touch. When I cried out with a loud voice that I couldn't take it anymore, He immediately touched me and it was all gone! ...no more pain, and total peace.
I would beg him to talk to me, and tell me that he loved me, but he was silent for years. There's a purpose for the wilderness. After about 3.5 years, Sarah and I had fallen asleep on the sectional. I woke in the night, and saw that she had kicked off her blanket. I got up and tucked it around her and laid back down. Just before my head hit the pillow, He says to me, "I take care of you like that."
It was exactly what I needed when I needed it. Had I not been in the wilderness in great suffering, I would have never had these experiences. Right now, I'm as snug as a bug in a rug, and he's not talking. I miss his voice, but not the suffering. LOL
