I have to work this afternoon, but I`m headed to Plainfield Shooting Supplies shortly. I believe they have a Glock Armorer, right? I took my Glock 30 down to clean, and when I reassembled it and racked the slide to lock it in place, I had something happen I`ve never seen before. The Guide Rod was protruding out the bottom hole under the barrel, probably 3 inches. I have no idea what caused it to do that, and I had a difficult time getting the slide back off to break the gun down again, but eventually I was able to. I disassembled everything and put it back together again, and now it`s fine. But this is my EDC pistol, and I need to have it inspected to ensure it`s alright. I`m thinking at the very least, I may need a new Guide Rod.
Anyone ever seen or heard of this before?

Exactly what it was. I went to Fort Liberty in Avon and walked in as soon as they opened. Their Glock guy said it`s just because I didn`t have the guide rod in the bottom cut, I had it in the top cut. Said it`s a common issue, but no harm done. Whew!
