Against my better judgement, I got up to hunt public this morning... I was quickly reminded why I don’t typically hunt public on weekends. I did, however, just have 6 turkeys come down off roost about 40 yards from me, so that was cool.

Great morning to be out. Squirrels are active. The least thing I expected to encounter in the area, a bob white quail. He was calling like crazy. Makes me wonder if someone is raising them.

My 12 year old son shot his first archery doe with his crossbow. He is excited. Rage broadheads are awesome. We are hunting in Switzerland county.

The great outdoors came dressed to the 9's today. What a gorgeous sunrise this morning! Stoked to be sharing God's creation with my daughter!

Just had a nice doe come in. I didn't see a small branch and deflected. I guess that's why its hunting not killing. Great morning to be out.

I have deer all around. One walked on the logging lane 15 yards away. That's to my back side now since I rotated the stand last month. Only caught the very end before out of sight. Had a 6 pointer grunting and chasing a few does. Just out of range and open shot.

Live from Huntington, WV. Visiting wifes kin folk nearby. Beautiful up in the mountains! 79deg yesterday, 55deg today! Saw a guy walking down the motel hallway with a crossbow last night.
