I just submitted my recall form for my 2 Henry single shot rifles. We'll see how this goes!

Well, it’s been two days since I submitted the recall form for my two rifles. I received a confirmation of receipt of the form immediately. However, since then I’ve heard nothing. I guess I’ll see how this goes.

Well, it's been a week and I have received no response from Henry on the 2 single shot rifles I submitted for recall. I'll call tomorrow and check on the status?!

They are probably overwhelmed. Was it an auto reply? I would wait I doubt you have been forgotten. It must be 25k-50k more or less to fix. It will take time.

And I’m sure you are correct, got to be plethora of replies and submissions. I’m not upset, not concerned. Just find it interesting to see what the response will be.

I feel that good customer service may do what Henry did. Great customer service would have been way ahead of the game and handled things better and more personably. Just my opinion.

I've had to send guns in to Ruger and Savage in the past. I think Ruger had my repair done and back in three weeks. Savage was closer to five. I've read in the past that Henry is pretty good about getting them repaired and back to their owners in a couple of weeks. Hope that's the case for you.

I called Henry and and within one ring, I was speaking with a gal in Customer Service. She was friendly and apologetic. Said they were being slammed with this recall and they have a good learning curve to endure since this Is new to them.
She looked up my rifles and confirmed that they are in the system. She also suggested that my UPS labels might arrive before the shipping boxes that I requested in the submittal. With that possibility, I might want to ship in my own boxes to expedite the service since the fix and upgrade is first come/first serve!

Maybe they were in too big of a hurry to get those out in the market. When Ruger came out with their Mark IV, I ordered one, hadn't even got around to taking it out to the range when I sent it back in to correct a FU.

I seem to remember Henry showing these firearms in their catalog and website more than a year before I saw them available in stores or online. Maybe there was a problem before and they held off of releasing them, thought they had it fixed, but didn't. Either way, I'm sure they'll repair them. It's just going to take time.

I have not received anything from Henry yet. No email. No UPS labels for shipping the guns. And no boxes for shipping. I called on Friday and once again a lady answered my call immediately. She searched and confirmed they received my submittal. She said she had no idea what happened and said apologetically she would try to expedite the labels. And she said I might want to just ship them on my dime since all repairs are first come-first serve.
I haven’t yet decided what I’ll do.

Here's my dilemma. I have my .243 topped with a Leupold Freedom 3-9x40. I've taken 1 deer with her from 169 yards out. My grandson is tapping approximately 1" groups at 100 yards, and I planned on him using this gun for youth weekend. I'm debating the use of the gun because at this point, I'm not going to send it in.
Here is what Henry states:
Under certain conditions, it is possible that some of these rifles and shotguns may discharge without the trigger being pulled if the hammer is partially cocked and released.
I don't see this as a serious problem since I'll be sitting next to him. When the time is right, muzzle pointed in a safe direction, fully cock the hammer and we're fine!

I don't see a problem with the scenario that you describe. Sonuds like you'll be right there keeping an eyeball on everything. As for the recall- my nephew got a label and box a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully, he'll get his rifle back in time for deer season.

They confirm they have my submittal for 2 rifles! Strange! Let me know if your nephew has some secret formula to getting this done.

Hey HC, talked to my nephew today, he received his rifle back last week. He said that the trigger is noticeably but hasn't shot it yet.

Hey HC, talked to my nephew today, he received his rifle back last week. He said that the trigger is noticeably but hasn't shot it yet. That’s awesome! Glad to hear that! Ironically, my wife left me a message a few hours ago that 2 empty boxes from Henry arrived today. These are the boxes that I requested on my submittal to ship my two rifles back to them. Unfortunately I’m on a monster of a job in the middle of Ohio this week so this will have to wait until next week!
