Good afternoon.
I have been a deer hunter for ~11 years, started by purchasing the Matthews Ultra II that I witlessly dry-fired in a shop. Figured I had a bow, I should buy some arrows and start using it. Gol-lee what a learning curve... Went five years before I recovered my first deer, a two-fer on yearlings about 1 minute apart. I had shot a doe the year prior, but could not recover due to a bad hit and refusal by an adjacent landowner to continue the track onto his land.
I have had continued success every year since and have upgraded my equipment as able along the way.
I lost my lease this year and door-knocking has been about as fruitless as when I started. So, I am trying to learn some of the public land.
I look forward to interacting on the forum!

What type of equipment have you upgraded to?

Welcome aboard. Any archery deer is tough, especially the first. I killed and recovered a coyote with my bow before I killed and recovered my first deer with a bow.

Welcome! That dry-fire sounds like something I would have done. What type of equipment have you upgraded to? I now use a Hoyt Alphamax 35 for my bow. All the accessories received a similar bump.
