I like to use live bait behind an egg sinker on the upstream edge of the deepest water i can find. I have also noticed the bite is better before it gets to hot outside(summer). Anyone else have tips or times of the year for there best trips?

My biggest was on a small bluegill. I've used goldfish and been told baby channel cats catch big flatties. Three way swivel 2 ounce flat weight and big strong circle hook. Let them have it a while before setting.

If you can find Green Sunfish, they are hardier than Bluegills.
