The Big HavaHeart live animal traps that I have are the two door variety. So it looks like you can walk right though it. When the trap door on the floor is stepped on both the doors on each end of the trap slam shut and are locked in place. HavaHeart has some traps that are single door like the ones you show in your photograph. Yeah they make both kinds.I've got a little miniature 1 for mice, rats, chipmunks etc that is the 2 door kind,it's a cute little thing. I've been mainly catching shrews and sparrows in it though and a few mice.

About 12 years ago a buddy of mine was trapping with dogproofs around his bear baits, I do the same but never had this happen.

Just took care of 3 amigos out in my woods. Went to check on fire and heard them running up a tree. A while later they fell out.

I see at least 2 new kills on the road to work every day for the last 2 weeks since the little ones have out and aboot. Coons are enemy #1 here and at my parents place. Grinners sometimes get a pass. Forgot...skunks get a pass unless they are getting into something they shouldn't. Years back, I had a feeder out, and the coons had a field day with it. I had a photo with a bunch of them in it, and the next photo was a lone skunk. Coons said, "See you later." It was a funny photo. I'm surprised that we haven't had an outbreak of rabies.

Lots of coons here again, waiting for them to get prime and I'll go to town on them.

Have had quite a few on cam down by the creek. Hope to take care of them later this year. Luckily no more, for now, near the chickens. Think my total was 9 coons and 2 opossums near the coop.

The crazy opossums like to eat my bees. The scratch the entrance at night and the guard bees come out. Then the bees get eaten. I guess those opossums will need to go with t he coons.

Both 'possums and 'coons are on the hit list here. I had fish food in the cardboard shipping boxes in an outbuilding. 6 boxes so far this year have been torn open, and the inner bag has been opened up too.
