On a July 4th week that I’ve been to or through Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis, Louisville and Indy... It would not surprise me if this turned out to be one of the worst July 4th on the roads. Obviously, I drive a lot. This last week has been crazy on the roads. From speeding to road rage and accidents, I’ve seen some of the most dangerous driving ever! Maybe I’m sounding like an old man here, but so be it! If you’re traveling this weekend, take extra time. Keep a cool head! And BE SAFE OUT THERE!

It`s been bad for some time, but I get what you`re saying, people are out of their cotton-picking minds out there. You`re witnessing the internal rot of a society that`s lost it`s moral compass. We are so lawless as a society and culture, it`s literally as in the days of Noah. Can it be long before the Lord raptures up His Church?

New pandemic. Hospitals will be overloaded with the deadly fireworks virus and automobile virus.

I thought we were not supposed to talk about the V-word? I'm staying at home hiding from everything myself. We have an Ozone alert for Southern Indiana and I'm staying inside trying to breathe cleaner air. I have the new Sen|si Wi-Fi Thermostat set to dehumidify the air down to 50%. I'm calibrated the Sen|si Thermostat Humidity reading with an Acurite Temperature/humidity meter by using the humidity offset on the Sen|si App. Does anyone else use a Sen|si Wi-fi Thermostat? My Sen|si app keeps stopping on me when I try to adjust the humidity offset or the dehumidification level on the Sen|si App on my Android Smart Phone. I'm also trying to use google assistant to control the Sen|si thermostat by voice command without much luck. I'm using a Samsun Galaxy Note 4 Android phone with software update N910VVRU2CQL1 dated Feb 1, 2018. Google Assistant doesn't seem to want to connect with my Sen|si App. Oh Well, at least I can still use the phone to control the thermostat when I'm in the Lazy-boy or laying down trying to go to sleep in the bed. I have to keep my phone with me when I do that though. Down here in Vanderburgh County we have the Lloyd Expressway that runs across town East to West in Evansville, IN. That roadway is always full of crazy drivers. I try to avoid it if I can and go around the South side of town using the I-69 Interstate Bypass. It's a long way around town but less stop lights and traffic. Even though it's a few miles longer there is less stop and starts and I can maintain a constant speed of 65 mph most of the time which means less wear and tear on the vehicle. And it's actually faster.

I just drove 10 hrs both ways to and from vacation. I can honestly say that most erratic driving I witnessed was from people trying to get around someone slow-poking in the fast lane. Another problem was big trucks taking five miles to pass one another, thus clogging up the fast lane.

Honestly the drives both there and back home were some of the better ones we’ve had on these trips. Couple construction zones but that was it. Weird thing I noticed on the way down last Friday was I literally only saw 3 cops in 900 miles of driving and only one of those was using radar. The trip back today was quite different. Quite a few had people pulled over and quite a few using radar. Still usually see a ton in Georgia and didn’t see a single one on either trip.

Another problem was big trucks taking five miles to pass one another, thus clogging up the fast lane. The slow passing of big trucks is likely their company putting the governor on low speed. My old company was 62mph cruise and 65mph on the pedal. They had us turn down a few guys to 57/60 when they were feuding with them. That was a trucking company playing games. My new company is strictly leasing, and I have seen most trucks set at 75/75. When working on over the road owner operators, I have seen unlimited top ends, usually just set to 150mph. We call them triple digit trucks. Some guys say they run 120-130mph out west. The steer tires we run now are only rated to 75mph.
