I was contacted earlier this year and asked if I would participate in a study of some sort of deer hunting survey being conducted by persons at Indiana University.
Today I am scheduled to have a ZOOM meeting that is expected to last approx. 45 minutes with persons conducting this study.
Has anybody else participated in such a study.

I got the email to participate.
I don’t know how to ZOOM and I really don’t have the PC To do it. My hearing loss makes it difficult too.
I’ve asked them to send me the questions and I’ll be more than glad to type up my answers for them.

WELL.........If you like deer hunting as you have known it then you might think about moving to another state.
The interview was approx, one and a half hours long and all done on a ZOOM interview board with the interviewer being at Indiana University. The Indiana DNR has contracted this group and asked for a study to review all aspects of Indiana deer hunting.
This interview could only be done in the manner in which it was because each answer you give opens another door and other questions. There are NO challenges to your responses so you are free to speak your mind.
I am not going to go into all of the details but they asked questions that concern all of us such as seasons, weapons, hunter satisfaction, ect ect.
This is my opinion of what the DNR is looking for with this study "AMMUNITION" I feel they are looking for reasons to substantiate the changes they make or don't make.
It was even mentioned several times about the insurance industry and it's effects on our deer herd.
If the DNR uses all the answers I gave them we will have a week long season and during that week long season you can use any current weaponry approved by the state EXCEPT for CROSSBOWS. The limit will be 1 deer per hunter and bucks may not have a rack larger than a 6 pointer.
What kind of answers did you expect from a DUCK HUNTER!

Sorry if my description of the way things went with this very lengthy interview don't interest or disappoint you but you need to remember a few things.
1. They chose me and when they did they didn't ask me to put a number on a scale from 1 to 100 how I ranked deer hunting as part of my yearly hunting experience. 2. The person conducting the interview has no opinion and offers non either verbal or with facial expressions. 3. I am a conservative private land owner and a lifetime license holder with over 60 years of boots on the ground hunting experiences and almost all of it right here in good old Indiana.
I don't have much good to say about the way the DNR has run things over the past 50 years that I have had experiences with and I don't expect things to change any time soon.

The good professor contacted me via email and has started sending me questions by an attachment to his emails. This is because I’m not to hip on this “Zoom” stuff and my hearing loss could make it more difficult to hear over my PC. It does look to be a lengthy process.
Pretty generic questions so far..
