Have any of you fellas used the Swhacker? I switched this year mostly because I like the Bow Life fella and his family.
So far only shot the provided practice tips; they shoot just like my field tips. I'm happy, but a little uneasy not shooting an actual Swhacker broadhead.
I'd rather not shoot one into the target, but would rest easier hearing someone's experience.

I will if no one has used them. I hate not having confidence when pointing it at a precious animal. Thanks medic for your response.

I use a 3 blade muzzy 100 grain on ours Same here. Any deer I've hit in the heart/lungs with them out of a crossbow hasn't went far at all. I've blasted through both shoulders with them.

Only problem was no entry cut, so if the arrow didn't exit there was not much of a blood trail. But every deer I hit with them died.

Thanks guys! I appreciate it.
esshup, that makes a lot of sense. They're designed to open up inside. The little blades just cut the outside. What do you use now?

The ones that I used to use didn't even cut on the outside. 2 1/2" cut inside was pretty devastating. I'm using Rage broadheads now, last year 100g, this year 125g to keep FOC the same.

I think esshup said he used Aftershocks before, iirc.
I am using Shwackers. To shoot into the target, wrap 2-3 times very tightly with electrical tape. The practice head and actual bhead shoot 3 inches low and left for me. To continue using a bag target, I cut off the small wing blades from the practice head. Shot it again and same poi as before. So just sight in for the bhead. I killed a buck last year, and they were ok. Not the best blood trail I ever had, but killed the deer in 75yds or so.
The best blood trail I ever seen was from a Ramcat. I have 8 packs of those, and set up on one xbow, but rarely use it. When I run out of Shwackers and Slick Tricks, I will use more. I wait and find everything on Walmart clearance so I stock up. Hard to say no when you pay $5, $7, or $9 for a pack that starts out at $40.

And IIRC the Aftershock package says use this heat shrink tube for practice, cut it off the broadhead when you go hunting. I liked them because they flew exactly like my field points. I didn't like them because if you hit the deer high and it didn't exit, you most likely won't have a blood trail.

I used Swhackers for 2 years. Killed 4 deer with them. I quit using them because the second to last deer I shot with them didn't penetrate far at all, but i did recover the deer and the last deer I shot with them, I hit a little high and possible caught the edge of the shoulder and got literally no penetration. I followed the blood trail for 3/4 of a mile until the deer got in the river and I totally lost any blood trail. I doubt that deer ever died. Anyway, in my experience with them, if you make a shot that isn't perfect, you are not going to get penetration. Just my experience. If they work for you, that's great! I switched to 200 grain fixed VPA 3-blades... No problem with penetration anymore. Now it's just hard to find the arrow after it passes through the deer and buries itself in the ground.

Muzzy 3 blade for decades. Few years ago tried Rage. After one not opening turned me off. Back in 80s I used wasp 3 blade.

I tried a rage expandable once. Hit a doe in the shoulder. Hardly any penetration. The arrow fell out as she took off. I've made the same exact shot with muzzy's and the bolt blew through both shoulders and stuck in the ground. I'm sticking with Muzzy's from now on.
A few days ago my brother in law shot a doe with a rage. It's his first crossbow shot. He found good blood at first but then it stopped. He found the bolt and said there wasn't any blood on the shaft, just on the point. I tried talking him into switching to muzzy's.

Definately got to stay off the shoulder with Rage. Especially the rounded cut on contact head. I think EVERYBODY has a bad story about those.
Never tried a Muzzy.
Slick Tricks are bulletproof tough. Steel ferrule, short and stout.
I got RamCats to try, a lot. They got awesome reviews.
But, for some common sense advice, just put a sharp broadhead in the vitals and you will kill deer.

I shot Muzzy 3-blade 100 grain broadheads when I shot a compound bow, but ever since I`ve hunted with a crossbow, it`s been only the NAP Spitfire`s for me. They took down that big 134 3/8', 204 lb. field dressed, 13-pointer in October 2018 no problem.
You`re correct in that, you need to have confidence in whatever you`re shooting.

I’ve shot G5 products for a good while now and haven’t been disappointed yet. The turkey my son just shot was with a G5 Havoc and it went right through that bird like butter.

I had G5’s and Muzzy’s from my compound days and gave them a shot with the crossbow. They did not fly well for me. The first fixed blade I found the flew well for me were QAD’s so that’s what I stuck with.

Hey all first post to this forum. Looking forward to more..
Maybe I’m a minority in this, idk, but I like the mechanical. All things being equal, I don’t get the flight of fixed blades compared to field points It seems to me that no matter what I use, my broad head is done after contact so I go cheap. I have used the NAP Spitfire the last 3 years and still bagged out. .
