I purchased a Remington BDL 700 .243 with a bull barrel. This is an older model gun that has never been fired. It looks brand new. I hope to get it Wednesday. I purchased a Leupold VX-Freedom 4-12x40 scope for it.
I also order a Leupold VX3i 4.5-14x40 scope CDS (custom dial system) with side focus. This will be for my Browning X-Bolt Hunter .308.
I can't wait for everything to come in and get it mounted. Pics coming soon!!!

I really like the .243 round. Usually very accurate, and, in my experience, a fine deer round.

I got my scopes in today and have them both mounted.
The Remington was built in 1971. Hadn't been fired. I have a couple boxes of Hornaday 58grain V-Max for it.
I got 3 boxes of Federal Premium 165 grain Trophy Copper for my .308 Browning.
Can't wait to get them zero'd!
I tried posting pics but, for whatever reason they won't load

I had a Savage Striker in .243, about 20 years ago, that would shoot 70-85 grain bullets really well. My old Savage rifle (1980s model 110) is a one inch shooter with 100 grainers but open up to about twice that with lighter bullets. Same twist, just the difference in guns.

I had a Savage 11 in .243 that really loved the 58 VMax. Several years ago I had that rifle converted to .358 WSSM for my wife to deer hunt with.
