And saltydog is one of them! Some years back, I did a deal with him on a Redfield, Widefield scope. I topped my Winchester 88 with it and even had the opportunity to take my first deer with the rifle last season. And then a month or so ago, saltydog texted me that he had found an old scope cover for the scope. With my crazy work and travel schedule, he ended up mailing it to me. He didn't have to do that. But, I greatly appreciate it as this rifle, having been handed down to me from my favorite Father-in-law is one of my prized possessions! It fits the scope perfectly. It's a "Michaels of Oregon" QD scope cover and pretty impressive. I mean, I've never seen a scope cover "built" with machine screws! I did a little searching and I get referred to Uncle Mikes. Anybody know the history of the company?

Thanks for the link jjas! I had always thought Uncle Mikes was the name of the company. It appears that it’s just the brand name. I just found it kind of funny that I had never heard the name Michaels of Oregon before!
