That TSS is good stuff. I just ordered 10 lbs to make some more shells. If I didnt use reloads I would probably use Apex TSS.

Does anyone shoot the Federal 3rd Degree? I`ve looked at it in 3" with 5,6, and 7 shot. That`s more reasonable cost wise.

Remington Nitro 3" #6 works great in my gun - Mossberg 500 with Undertaker choke. Nothing fancy but it knocks them dead out to 40 yds. Nitros are about the cheapest shells I see in stores around me.
I have nothing against someone wanting to shoot a turkey at 60 yards or further, but I have more fun calling them in close. I don't set up in spots where the tom can hang up at long distance and look for the hen, then leave when he doesn't see one. I don't use decoys and I hunt well back from field edges. I try to get in some thicker cover so they have to come looking for me. Generally, I want the turkey to be in range when I first see it.

I did a bunch of pattern testing last year. My 1 3/8 oz handload of buffered #6 lead shot @ 1380 fps patterned just as well as any heavier 3" turkey load that I bought. Will check out the TSS shells this year.
