Does anyone here decide if they're fishing or not based on wind direction? I know the old saying, "if the wind blows from the east you catch the least..." I found an interesting article on that. fishing.boyslife.org/truth-wind-fishing/I know I'm a novice at fishing and have a lot to learn. But, I see tomorrow we have an east wind. And the temps are suppose to warm up and the east wind is not ushering in a cold front. So, should I not waste my time? Or will they still be hungry? To be completely honest, I'm just excited about getting my wife out fishing. I definitely want to catch a few catfish but, I'm looking forward to the time out together more.

Never really paid any attention to it @ all!!! A stronger wind can impact your ability to feel bites but that is about all i pay attention to with the wind !!! Get out and Fish on:)

I never paid much attention to it either.
The only thing I factor into wind / fishing is strong winds make it hard to cast, and if the water is too choppy it can disrupt the fish.

If I have time to fish, I am going to head out regardless of wind direction. Its getting harder and harder to find time so have to take full advantage of any I have. I like the saying "A bad day fishing beats a good day at work" better than the wind direction one

We opted not to go yesterday afternoon. That east wind was cold and I don't want my wife being miserable out there. We finished planting the garden instead and plan on fishing tomorrow.

The pros on TV seem to target the side of the lake that the wind is blowing to
