Sheesh ! I've purchased and stocked fish in my ponds around home a half dozen times and it has always been a very simple deal. Meet the fish truck at the local drop off spot, they scoop your fish out and put them in a big bag of water, then you haul them home to release in your pond.
Getting some tomorrow for my new cabin pond several hours from home and called about confirming the delivery time. They tell me I have to bring my own water? So I've got to go back to the pond beforehand, fill a big container with pond water (tap water will kill them), then drive to the delivery location, put the fish in my water container, then back to the pond for release.

You can use tap water. Just use a chlorine/chloramine neutralizer that you can find in pet stores for aquariums. Call the fish truck people and ask them what water temp is in their tanks. It needs to be within 5 degrees at the most from your water, you can take your time and temper them once at the pond. Since you are driving more than an hour, I'd load them at 30%-no more than 50% usual density in the bags for transport. Just so they don't run out of O2 during the trip - once you take possession of them, they are yours.

So after all of this, we get a big container of pond water and drive up to the Rural king to meet the fish truck. My fish were pre ordered and paid for, 200 hybrid bluegill. Sitting in parking lot waiting with other folks, truck is supposed to show at 1:00. About 1:30 the store manager comes out and announces that the truck is running late, won't be there until 2 or after, and he's already sold out of hybrid bluegill and catfish. I still have no fish.
Have pretty much decided that we are going to self stock this pond by taking big bluegill from a nearby pond and releasing them in mine. Won't be hybrids, but I'm not seeing many other options.

Did you get your order or refund? If pre-order the fishery still had yours.

Ahem................... Hoosier Pond ProsI'm going to be coming up I-57 the next 2 weeks with fish. Meeting a guy near Farsi, on my way back with a bunch of crayfish in 2 weeks. I have to talk to one of my suppliers tomorrow, there's been a run on Hybrid Bluegills and the medium and larger ones are in very short supply. I don't have them on the website, but I can get a mix of Bluegills, Hybrid Bluegills and Redear Sunfish, that fish mix is running 7" in length, approximately 250# per 1,000 fish. Largemouth Bass are in short supply too, one fish farm lost over 2 million fingerlings last year. I am getting the last few hundred in the 5"-7" size, I do have a source where I can get 1#-1.5# largemouth. I will be able to get a bunch of Largemouth fingerlings (1"-3") starting in late June or early July.

Just talked to Scott and they are going to hook me up with some fish later this fall, when weather cools down a bit.

NOW I am putting 2+2 together!!! LOL
The fish suppliers are all sold out of the hybrid bluegills except the smallest and largest size. Since I couldn't run back down there last week with taking care of Mom to get the large Bluegills to stock in the pond at Dowling Park in Hammond, I was able to have them hold them for me. I will go down there maybe next week to get them and if I can get any size other than the smallest ones or the largest ones I'll grab some for you. OR I may just grow some bigger for ya for a month or two as I have around 1,000 here. If you have a large cooler, and a battery powered aerator, I could run them down to you right before you make a trip over there too. They should survive the trip in a large cooler with an aerator just fine, OR meet you there when we start running fish again around Labor Day. Figure 1/8# to 1/4# fish per gallon of water. The Hybrid Bluegills will be running 1.2 to 2.4 pounds per 100 fish.
