I believe it's really simple. Same as target shooting for small groups. If you can make everything as consistent as possible, then the groups will shrink. BUT that is a lot easier to say than do, I realize that.
Shoot from a solid rest.
Have good shooting form when shooting
Get the arrows to weigh the same, even if it takes slight weight adjustments with weighted washers
Get arrows that are as straight as possible,
Etc., etc.
