Each winter, the flock of turkeys leave my property and gather straight east of me in a huge flock. This morning I went to my place to move cameras around to start focusing on turkey scouting rather than deer. As I was leaving I ran into about a dozen long beards. Of course, they'll break up soon and start getting their own woodlots before season. It was still nice to see them.

Where I used to hunt before it became a coal mine, it was just the opposite...birds would winter-up on the property and next door VERY HEAVILY and then disappear in the spring.

Their wintering areas and their breeding areas aren`t necessarily the same. There`s a lot of information available on the internet, and a great deal of it on Wild Turkey Federation website.

I saw 7 hen's this evening. Didn't take a picture. I was heading out to see what color pollen they were bringing in. Bright yellow and a lot of it. imgur.com/a/qMXpMKl
