I plan on returning to Kansas this September for another muzzleloader deer hunt, and am putting this out to see if anybody has any interest in tagging along.
I'll be there September 11/12 to the 20th. Licenses are roughly $540 and applications are due by April 24.
It's about a 14 hr drive. I prefer to camp, but might be talked into a reasonable hotel room.
Total cost of the trip (tags, fuel, campsite fees, ice, etc.) would probably be around $900 per person, a little more if staying in a hotel.
Highs are likely to be in the 80's, lows in the 50's. Last year though it did hit 98* one day I was there.
It's Kansas, so it's mostly flat terrain. There is a lot of farm ground enrolled in the walk-in hunting program. Not difficult at all to get around in.
I think I had 4 days to hunt last year, and saw a real nice 160+ buck that I couldn't get in range of, then missed a 140-ish 8 point on the last evening. Still sick about that.
If you're interested you can PM me and we can go over the particulars. I'll be going no matter what, but would enjoy some good company if any are so inclined.

If I didnt already have a hog hunt booked and plans to hunt kentucky (as well as a kitchen remodel to deal with) I would be in for this. I dont think i can talk the wife into anything else.

That's awesome. Unfortunately working in a school doesn't create much flexibility in time off. If you ever do any trips during the first two weeks of October, I'll do my best to join you.

Great offer ! I'm booked for December firearms hunt and KS is a one buck state just like IN, so if I'd kill one in muzzy season, my Dec firearms hunt would be a no go.
Great place to kill a big whitetail.

Great place to kill a big whitetail. Yep.. and that brings up another point I left out earlier. If you don't tag out during the September muzzleloader season, you can come back in December for firearms season, so long as you use a muzzleloader.
