Taking off tonight after work to head out to Missouri to chase some snows tomorrow and Saturday. My cousin got a call from the farmer who has let us hunt his fields that the last several days he has had thousands in his fields. I guess one of the preserves nearby has an estimated over 1 million on it. Warmer weather and somewhat southern winds should hopefully have them moving north. Not looking forward to the 7 hour drive and setting up decoys all night but hopefully the payoff is worth it!

Working on ours. Got here about 10. Setting up in pitch black sucks. Maybe getting a couple hours sleep in the truck before sunrise

I remember getting up at 3 am and driving to Hovey Lake back about 40 years ago to go Waterfowl hunting. You have to be dedicated to hunting Geese and Ducks. We would row out to our blind in the dark and set up decoys in the dark. It was cold and if you work up a sweat rowing the boat across the lake to the blind you really get cold sitting in the blind for the next 4 to 5 hours. The best part of the morning was having some hot coffee or soup in a good thermos. Stay warm and safe guys. My waterfowl hunting days are long past.

We finished with 7. We saw tons of birds but they wouldnt commit to fully coming in. Several circles and then moving on. Probably should have had about 12-15 but some p!ss poor shooting got the best of us. Still had a great time. We didnt see the migrators coming in the we heard about. Northern Arkansas was killing them and had reports of migrators moving north all weekend but we never had them move past us.

Trying to decide if I meet up with them this coming weekend as well. It sounds like they will be chasing them in Iowa this weekend.
